We're Still Here

We are officially 2 weeks in to being a family of 4 and we are still alive and well. After having Maggie I gave myself "permission" to do nothing for the first 2 weeks. No worrying about answering emails or calls - if I got around to them then good, but if not, it was still okay - no concerns about exercising, blogging, thank you notes or even cooking meals. It has been great. Our focus has been on adjusting, sleeping, breastfeeding and managing this new 'normal'.

A quick update:
- Maggie's birth went well. So very different than with Leighton Grace. Since I did a lengthy two part story to document LG's birth, I will have a birth story coming up for Maggie soon too!

- Leighton Grace has done fantastic with the addition of a sister. She LOVES Maggie. Everyday when she walks in the door from school her first question is "Where's Maggie?". She is always wanting to give Maggie hugs and "isses" (as she calls kisses) and constantly asks to hold Maggie. So far there hasn't been any indications of jealousy--just excitement!

- Maggie is such a great child. She seems to be really laid back and I hope that is  truly her personality and not just something I am getting used to only to be wrong about later! She has been trying to hold her head up since the day we got home and she likes to be up on your shoulder so that she can see everything. She has little regard for personal space and it's absolutely adorable.

Just Born

- At her one week check up Maggie's head had grown 1 cm and she had grown in length 1 inch. When we left the hospital she weighed 7 lb, 1 oz, and three days later on Wednesday she was weighing 7 lb, 8 oz. Can you tell she's an eater? :)

One Week Old

We have been fortunate to have my M-I-L here for a few days and also my aunt and uncle around to help out. Thanks to all who have done sweet things and checked up on us--we are so blessed in so many ways!
